201 STAINLESS STEEL is the alloy of choice for .030" thick stainless band and stainless buckle applications. Our .030" thick stainless banding and the 201 stainless buckles are a true 201 alloy as originally designed , not a 200 / 300 series blend that has recently appeared in the marketplace . This is the product that is designed for demanding applications such as traffic signal and heavy sign installations. Type 201 stainless is stronger than 300 series stainless and has good corrosion protection (Type 301 , 302 and 304 stainless is softer - IE lower PSI than type 201 stainless). All of our stainless steel raw materials are purchased from American mills as prime product with traceability back to the steel mill certification . Our mill certifications contain the metallurgical content and the physical properties. We do not use open market / secondary stainless or import stainless. We adhere to rigid ASTM standards. The finish will always be shiny as originally designed. The products conform to ASTM . A240/A480 and A666.
